Mhh excuse me for my very bad english, i'm from Italy. I'm very impressed for your works: your mods are amazing! You are the best.

1) Why this forum don't have a rss feed?

2) IMHO the price of "Branding Free" is too high...ok you need to mantain a credit link in the bottom of the forums using your mods, but if i have vbulletin/vbseo and other 3/4 scripts with credit link, i have a footer with 20 credits, i think it's exagerate! i see other paid scripts don't have a branding free option with this exagerate prices, the medium price is 20/30$...please riconsiderate that.

3) I like the ipb feature that permits to post a Status Update like facebook, why you don't create a mod for that? I think is very useful lol.

Heya, you got the reasoning correct - essentially we prefer people NOT to go branding free, as it means we get less attention/customers (which costs us money)

As far as the price goes - vBSEO branding free is approx $120, so i feel our fee's are about right judging by that =)

I know some people are always going to think our products/options/extras could/should be more or less expensive, but we put a price on them based on the functionality and features they give and in the case of branding free, the income potential.

Short answer: The pricing of branding free is in line with the vBSeo model (and as such with the premium modification end of the market, which is where we are situatated) and ideally no one would buy it anyway =P

Yes, but there are 2 question:

1) With vbseo (*one* very old product, fondamental) you can disable the link, and mantain only the text, the problem is if i have more external links in the footer of all my pages, i can have a penalization from google [expecially if i have a non-english language website)

2) If you don't want to decrease the price of the branding free consider the option of a "branding free bundle" or a promotion for customers if buying more products for your website.

1) IIRC, thats only the case after an obtuse number of links (like 8+), Also, i do believe the only product that adds a global footer is vBOptimise. vBShout should only place a footer on vBShout pages, and so on with our other products. Also, many people would argue that site optimisation is just as fundamental, if not more so, than improving search engine results =P

2)Again, the issue isn't so much that i don't want to reduce the price, it's that i want to discourage people from going branding free =P I'll certainly consider a bundle option though to see if it tempts any people who require branding free =)

I like your products! I bought a mod with Branding Free License and would like to buy some of your mods. But I still stop their total price, along with Branding Free License. It will be good option to consider discounts for multiple mods with Branding Free License.

My 2 cents.

Out of all the branding fees I seen, the fee was never more then the product it self. Some close to it and others not even half.

I don't know about everyone else, but my reason for going branding free is to keep the n00bs from copying every single thing I do on my site, and believe me there's like 4 sites so far that copy every dam mod I put or buy (Which they dont buy, they pirate it - Offshore Servers) So its more for a competitor reason. I love your products and don't want you to think I want to stop potential customers. Its just for the reason of not letting those n00bs know what I do or use to make my site what it is. I truly get pissed the F* off when these sites end up with everything I do.

As the product maker I know you don't see it that way cause your thinking 4+ more sites to buy your product right? but its hard to think for both purposes I suppose.

You sum up the difficulties right there really. Honestly in a perfect world, we wouldn't even offera branding free option xD.

We only do because customers want us to really.

From an economic perspective, it's exactly like you say, sites, especially *LARGE* sites, often have people checking for ideas they can use to improve their own sites. It's possible that ne large/popular site can lead several people here to buy our products.

The problem is that if branding free is really cheap, those big sites will just buy that and we lose out on all of those potential customers, that means less revenue, which means less coders, which means less time to create/update mods etc etc.

Basically I have to take all of that (and more) into account when setting the branding free options. I need to offer it, because you guys want it, but i also need to make it so that it doesn't lose us *too* much money. It's a balancing act really, and not a particularly easy one haha.

The price of vbseo is $149, the branding free ($120) it's in line to the price of the product.
The branding free of your products it's not in line with the price of your products...that is my question.

My problem is to "seo" (i have many footer links, and this can penalize my forum) and yes, the noob that copying are a problem.

On our higher end products (vBShout and vB Optimise) the branding is also in line. Below a certain threshold though we set it to a standard rate of $75 ^^

We will look into making "combination" footers, where buying multiple products will combine the footers, so that SEO is unaffected ^.^
