Hallo,

Now i am using Shared Server (with good configuration). Seams that vbshout is eating the CPU and we are experiencing issues in forum. Kindly advise how i can resolve this issue. I noticed in the board that issues can be resolved adding some code in .htaccess. But i dont know how to do it.

I have disabled the shoutbox even there is not much difference.

Kindly help me, am afraid suspension from server side.

Regards
jerit

So, is it still laggy while the shoutbox is disabled?

Also do you have "Shoutbox Optimisation " enabled in your instance setting?

Increasing the CPU (reaching 100%) when i enable the shoutbox.
Following are the message when we check the resource usage

You have reached entry processes (number of simultaneously running php and cgi scripts, as well as cron jobs and shell sessions) limit 44 times

What is your update rate?
Also, do you have Shoutbox Optimisation enabled?

ALso, how big is your forum? aka. how many users do you have on at one time?

Yes, i have enabled shoutbox optimization.

I dont understand the update rate?. can you explain it

I mean your "Shoutbox Refresh Speed"
Anyways,
What type of server are you on?
Free web-hosting, or paid web-hosting, or a VPS, or a dedicated server?

Hm, well you have enough ram..

do you have shell access? or only FTP? I think only FTP.

I can't continue to help, because I've got no more ideas, sorry.

Your forum is probably too big to run on a shared host, you'll need to upgrade to a decently sized VPS or a Dedicated server.

If you're looking for a VPS we can recommend https://www.sparknode.com/ - they're from the same company that host us and we have nothing but good things to say about their support :)

I have moved my site to VPS. following are the server status now.

5.9 GB of 97.66 TB Used / 97.65 TB Free
Memory Usage 2%
38.73 MB of 2 GB Used / 1.96 GB Free
VSwap Usage 0%
0 KB of 1 GB Used / 1 GB Free
Disk Usage 3%
7.71 GB of 250 GB Used / 242.29 GB Free

usually the server load is less than 2.00 but if i enable shoutbox last time it is increased upto 8.00 and site went down. Then I rebooted the VPS and immediately disable the shoutbox

Since morning it is like that.

Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Regards
jerit

Ensure you have Refresh Timeout set to no lower than 3 (5 or more preferrable) and ensure you have followed the CHMOD instructions in the readme.txt file.

Yes, it is chmod /dbtech/vbshout/aop.

I found 2 directory under dbtech
vbshout
vbshout_pro.

There is no apo folder in this directory. Do we required this folder vbshout_pro? or can i delete it.
