shoutbox errors.

my members are experiencing the following errors sporadically:

 Error: Invalid response from the server

Loading...

Sorry you do not have permission to shout

this one happens and logs the user out.

If the cookie timeout is set too low, or the user idled for a long time, vbulletin may log them out and that message would appear. It is not a problem with vbshout as far as I can tell.

well the timeout is at: 3600 seconds.
and this happens regularly and the members are NOT idling for that long.

It's doubtful the error is with the shoutbox, I take every measurement to ensure session data is carried over. Are they using the remember me checkbox?

well i was talking to my server tech and hes telling me he thinks its something with the shoutbox, but i dont see anyone else having these issues.
could this be a cookie issue as well?
because i never setup the cookie page.

yes they are using it.
i just spoke to my server admin, he advised me he thinks the issue is due to me being on php 5.3
and that vbulletin 4.0.3 apparently has a bug in it that is causing this issue.
maybe you could check it out and verify it.

Try upgrading to 4.0.6 then, any version before 4.0.4 has tons of serious bugs that you should resolve by upgrading

We cannot test our products on every conceivable PHP, server and vB version.
