Shout does not display even though user group is set

I set usergroup permission to use Shout PRO but did not see it display on screen, what did I miss?

Have you correctly configured the Deployment and Template settings?
If you're having problems getting it to display when using the automatic deployment setting (Below Navbar for instance) then you may want to try to configure the script and template settings yourself.

index goes in the script setting
FORUMHOME goes in the template setting

And then you can add {vb:raw vbshout} to FORUMHOME where you want it to appear.

I forgot to metion that it displays for Admin only, user does not see it

Have you looked at the Usergroup settings in your Usergroup Manager?
If Can View Shoutbox is set to No, they won't be able to see it.

If your template is missing the required hooks, that could be why. Did you try manual deployment? Be sure to change the Auto-Deployment setting to Disabled if you're manually editing templates.

Also, we need to have a (language) javascript for the typing of foreign characters in Shout, where would that go?

I'm not sure what you mean by language javascript - what foreign characters don't work?

Foreign characters does display, but in order to type in foreign character I need to insert the javascript (done that for vb4 Suite already) at certain line of code for (text box of) Shout PRO

Oh yeah, something similar like you did for your registration page.

Well, the this.keystroke = function(e) in clientscript/dbtech/vbshout/vbshout.js (near the bottom) is probably your best bet.
