Question New install issue and question

I just installed the current version fo vbShout and for the most part its working fine.

My IE8 users are miserable the bigest complaint is that the forum over all is slow and that chat is laggy. Are there any known IE8 issues? or peformance suggestions?


Is there a way for a user to turn the chat box totally off/on?

Is there a way to set specific groups to ignore the idle timeout?

If you want ignore IDLE timeout Check out Setting Option is Available and also Chatbox

FF, CHrome and IE9+ seem to be fine.

But IE8 is an issue.

Can you be more specific?
The only setting I can see is in instance settings. The one I see it labeled "Is Auto Idle". Based on the name it sounds like it would do the oppisite of what I want. But its not checked on any group.

I'd think this would be a feature that could be easily coded.

I am assuming that adding some code to the correct plugin should let me do it. Can you point me to the correct one?

You could try adding it to the Global Initialisation one
