I'm getting 404 errors trying to launch any of the urls, even mysite.com/forums/vbquiz.php

In the control panel I get a page not found error. Not running vbseo.

Can you verify the files all were uploaded correctly?
Since you said the acp doesn't work
You should have yoursite/forums/admincp/vbquiz.php and
yoursite/forums/dbtech/vbquiz/actions/admin/ with a bunch of files in it.

I also get this message as well Dylan, when going to the forum/vbquiz.php page:

We are sorry but you do not have permissions to view vBQuiz. Please speak with the administrator if you feel this is an error

---------
From the cpanel, I can get the individual DB cpanel items to save but not the general settings for the site. I added a new category and that worked perfectly. But I couldn't change the name of the quiz or the splash page in the General Settings in Site Settings. This is what the URL is for general settings redirect after I click save for the general items like General VB Quiz:

http://mysite.com/forums/admin/index.php?loc=plugin.php?do=product

One thing that strikes me as wrong is that my site forces a www and this time it's not on the redirect either. That's the 404.

PS - I reuploaded the files and it solved the 404 on the main page. It seems includes/xml may have had a corrupt file.

OK - it is ONLY

(1) the General Options that doesn't work, all the other Vbulletin Settings works perfectly (the redirects after clicking save.)

(2) Inability to reach the home page of the quiz - permissions error

Thanks guys - URL of the issue is posted. If you go to vbquiz.php there you'll see the permissions issue and I cannot explain what's wrong with the General Options for vbquiz which don't save and go to a 404 error.

One additional item to note - I have renamed the admincp to something else. All works fine and I wonder if there is some dependency on the original default URL perhaps.

Did you remember to upload /upload/admincp/vbquiz.php to your new AdminCP directory?

Yes - I created two directories just to be sure. Now here is what is weird - the redirect goes to forums/newdir/ correctly.

http://mysite.com/forums/newdir/index.php?loc=plugin.php?do=product

This works perfect for the other two options in the VB Options. However, it doesn't work with the General Options where you save your brand free key, your file you use vbquiz.php, etc. So it IS going to the right place and not a 404 which is only generated by the save to that one item.

One more anomaly - I've confirmed this problem happens with Chrome and Firefox 4 only for General Options. After the problem occurs, every time you choose an option in the vb cpanel like Quiz Management it launches a second window with only that option. The only way of getting rid of this _target command (at least that is what it was) to open a new window is to refresh the browser and then go to the other items that work.

Could I get a temp admin account to look at it? I can't seem to replicate it on my dev system.
Have you set your usergroup settings yet? If you haven't, that's the permissions problem

Where should I post the admin info? Regarding the inability to have permission to see the quiz, I'm logged in as the admin so usergroups should not be an issue. I noticed that all the logged in user groups were given permission to see the quiz.

Send you the PM - thanks for the great support Dylan. This is weird no question! Let me know what you need and we'll figure this one out.

I sent you a PM back :)

I sent you a pm, you should be good.
In case anyone runs into this same problem of getting a 404 when trying to modify the general settings. For some reason this server didn't like having a <p> in the Closed Reason field. I removed the <p> and </p> codes from that field, it saved fine.
