We used the Beta 7 version up until yesterday when we upgraded to the latest version.
The upgrade seems to mess the forum up, as characters such as £ signs seem to be displayed as question mark inside a box.
Also, when installed, our shoutbox doesn't run correctly, and forum blocks which we have on the forum home seem to move right to the bottom of the forum..

I saw today the latest update fixes some character issues, but we just installed it and the same thing happened again

Any ideas?

Thanks

First off, ensure you've not enabled the UTF-8 setting. Secondly, try experimenting with the Filter Non-Latin Characters setting to see if other values work for you.

Thanks for replying.
How would I go about doing that? I presume you mean within DBSEO in AdminCP, but when the plugin is enabled, the forum shoutbox doesn't work, and I cannot access DBSEO via Admincp as it gives me a white blank page.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

PM'd you, thanks.

I can't help with this issue. There is a file somewhere that appears to have a UTF-8 Byte-Order Mark that is disrupting DBSEO from functioning correctly:

I've been unable to locate the culprit. I have disabled DBSEO from your site, but due to this issue multiple parts of your forum is still not functioning correctly. This confirms the issue is not in DBSEO, as at the moment DBSEO does not run in any way, shape or form on your site.

I would advise you to download the latest version of vBulletin and overwrite all files on your server with these fresh files, then run the upgrader to upgrade to the latest version.

Thanks, I guess this is the only option we have!
