Bug "Oldest first" not working

The "Oldest first" option is not working in this latest release (after upgrading from a previous version); auto-scrolling in particular is not working. New messages are therefore not visible unless the user manually scrolls to the bottom.

Auto-scrolling never worked correctly - in previous versions, it would snap to the bottom even if users were scrolled up, which we received lots of negative feedback for.

That's why I took out the auto-scrolling

Actually Auto-scroll did work for me in Firefox and only Firefox. Chrome and IE did the jumping thing.....

It did work just fine for me with Chrome. Would it be possible to put it back into the product, and perhaps add an on/off switch into the admin panel?
