I added it back in manually, but now the css stopped working again, although the info is sticking in the admincp, try enabling the mod, you'll see what i mean.

That's because the mod cannot flush the old data, you need to rectify the XCache authentification issue in the other thread :)

The stylevars in the Admin CP look exactly like what I inputted, with a special format. On the forum side they will disappear because the old cache is still active - until it's flushed so it can be overwritten the operation won't work as designed which is why the System Test is there to ensure the extension is configured properly.

Let me be clear, i upgraded, the admincp stylevar info deleted itself. I re entered it after. That is why it is there now.

Understood :)

I've looked into it and the issue isn't directly related, but is an aftermath. vBulletin will rebuild styles and such when importing any XML products/phrases/styles/etc.., and as such it uses the "master style" as the prime default, then your customisations. The master style css may be corrupted like your original so to rectify requires a couple of steps:

1. Open css page for your existing style (Cjuice 2009)
2. Open another tab, import the master style xml
3. In the original tab, save css for your existing style so colours are not defaulted.

As before I can rectify that for you. That would resolve the CSS issue, but the forum end is caused by the XCache configuration.

That's been done.

I tested by re-importing the vB Optimise product and that invoked a style rebuild, the CSS information remained intact. :) Just the XCache issue now.

I'm seeing the same problem now. I accidentally clicked 'Compress Templates' and now all my stylevars are gone. This happened also after I first installed vbOptimise and I had to restore a database backup, because I hadn't linked it to vbOptimise then. I don't want to restore from backup again, as today was a very post intensive day for us and I simply can't afford to lose that data. Any immediate help would be much appreciated, as my forum is without any formatting/layout now :-( The info given in this thread is a little over my head.

Please don't tell me I have to wait until Deceptor returns from his holiday to get my forum back to normal (or forced to restore from backup). This is absolutely not cool and such a possible destructive option shouldn't be left in the script imho.

After 7 long hours of salvaging bits and pieces from external css files and reproducing stylevars and css from older backups I finally have my styles back, without any further data loss. I also removed the offending options from vbOptimise in the AdminCP (though includes/xml/cpnav_vboptimise.xml), so I can't make the same mistake ever again.
However, this feature is not ready for prime time imho and should never be as destructive as in its current form.

Just to point out that Deceptor is back from his vacation, you simply managed to post at a time which was midnight/1am where the staff here live.

Quick question though, did you have the latest version of vBO installed? Because flicking through the thread it seems like the original issue (the one you are having) was solved with a patch when it happened...

Obviously we can only fix issues as people have them, and we kinda rely on people having the latest updates and running the most bug-free versions. If you don't have that then you may run into old bugs - and even if we *had* removed it... It would only have been removed in the latest version.

If you had the latest version of vBO installed when this happened then it's something we'll have to look into obviously, and Deceptor will do that when he gets online.

I apologise for the issues caused iPhoneclub, I will be disabling the option in the Live Download - I presume you're running the latest version (2.0.1?), the download was patched just over 1 week ago (it's possible the you installed prior to the patch, but I'll still test it out).

Thanks guys. To be fair, I'm not 100% positively sure if I patched my install, but I did so last night. Nevertheless I'm a little hesitant in using this option again, so I just removed both options as previously stated. If this ever happens again to someone, what would be the easiest path to restore? Rebuilding from master style etc didn't help at all and restoring vb_style from a previous backup didn't help either. Maybe I had to restore vb_template as well, but I wasn't sure and didn't dare to try it.

Ah well, it was a fun 7 hours again :( ;) And I like to state: besides this bug I'm really happy with the performance of vbOptimise (over 3.000.000 resources saved already since install)

=) glad to hear vBO is helping you out, and sorry to hear about the issue costing you 7 hours >.<

I'm sure when he grabs a minute deceptor will run through the procedure for restoration in the event someone else runs into this problem on an older version.

Thanks again for supporting us, and i hope that the rest of your time running vBO will be super productive and issue-free ^.^

The restoration I applied for the other member was simply reading his forums external css file that vB Generated, and manually applying all colours/stylevars back into the ACP then saving. To restore the master file I re-imported the XML Master Style (one provided in the install/ directory), re-importing the master may have undone the CSS stylevars added (because master information was missing), so I backed up the manual stylevars once added to re-apply if required.

Cumbersome to say the least but it worked. Just happy to hear that otherwise vBO has done good for you :)
