Question Showthread - DBTech Showthread-Template

Hello,

i have a simple question ^^

If i click a thread, theres nothing from dbtech SHoutbox but my debugger say, that some dbtech-templates loadet in showthread:

I have activatet the Shoutbox only on forumhome but why it loads the shoutbox in showthread too?

In previous versions, you had to manually specify what areas you wanted the shoutbox to load in. That was the number one cause for support threads because people didn't know that in order to get shoutbox to show up on, say, member profile, you had to enter "member" in that box.

In newer versions, we changed it to load its templates on all vBulletin powered pages, and made it so that you could easily plug in the shoutbox almost anywhere.

That being said, it does not fetch shouts or cause noticeable negative impact on performance until the shoutbox is actually displayed (which is when it actually fetches shouts)

Ah ok, it looks like perfomance-hungry but if you say thats ok, than thats all fine =)

it does eat up the bandwidth a bit I find

It doesn't, not beyond the first load. JS files are cached in your users' browsers, so they aren't re-downloaded every time
