I have downloaded and uploaded both vBActivity Lite and vBAdvanced Post Thanks and Like Lite, to test this weekend. If they worked I wanted to buy them on Monday.

But every time I try to import the XML for either add-on I get this error:

Either /home/slayaliv/public_html/dbtech/vbactivity/install/core.php or /home/slayaliv/public_html/dbtech/vbactivity/install/finalise.php is missing!

Then I am prompted to go back to the Admincp, and the product does not show as installed. I successfully installed a sticky thread splitter, and I have followed your instructions so I think I have done everything correctly. The files in the error message are uploaded to the correct places as well as far as I can see in my cPanel, so they are not missing at all. I don't know what to do, but I am disappointed because I was really hoping to buy these, they look like they will be amazing.

Please help me someone :)

Have you verify that both files are there?
(/home/slayaliv/public_html/dbtech/vbactivity/install/core.php or /home/slayaliv/public_html/dbtech/vbactivity/install/finalise.php)

It's not suppose to be in the public_html root, each file has its own location.

core.php & finalise.php goes here -> /home/slayaliv/public_html/dbtech/vbactivity/install/

How did you upload all the files included in the package?

if you literally just placed the "upload" folder in the public_html , then yeah thats incorrect. open the upload file locally and drag everything in there into your forums root.

Okay, I'll try that, and post the results. I was a bit confused. I'm new to all this (coming from ProBoards) vBulletin is a much more advanced/new world for me. But thanks for clarifying that!

Ok, I'll be here incase you need more help. For the future, in the world of vBulletin, whenever a mod has a "upload" folder, you drag what's inside of that folder to your forums root.

Pretty much what Bravo said xD

I've checked your forum and the files appear to be in the correct folders now, do you still have problems importing?

Now I'm getting the error

Please upload the files that came with the vBActivity before installing or upgrading!

When I open the folder I downloaded it contains a folder named dbactivity, which when clicked, it contains: admincp, dbtech, images, includes, modcp, and a vbactivity.php

I uploaded the folder dbtech only. If I upload the rest one at a time, won't they conflict with the admincp folder from my vbulletin software already on there?

The only thing I have in my public_html folder is my vbulletin stuff. This is probably maddening for you guys, sorry :\

You need to upload all the folders, they won't conflict because they don't overwrite any vB files :)

Did you upload that file too? :p

*blank stare*

Wow, geez. I. am. dumb. Uploaded, and it works immediately. Thanks so much you two, really! Awesome response. :)

Well, I am hoping this is a hit with my membership! One thing I do have is moolah$ so I plan on purchasing both in a few days if response if high. Now, for Achievements, do I create them myself right now or does it come with a built in set?

You create them yourself, in the Pro version there's an export file available but this functionality isn't available in the Lite version :)

Ok thanks. Is there a tutorial or anything I can read on adding that? It's prompting me to create a Category before allowing me to start making Achievements. I'd rather just read up, than continually asking questions over and over. Haha, I learn things quickly! :)
