Question Yet another mobile style feature is broken by vBNavTabs on vB4.2

On November 14, I posted about vBNavtabs precluding the greeting message from being displayed on the vB4.2 mobile style. I thus came up with, and posted about, a workaround that involves adding a conditional greeting message to the FORUMHOME template.

Further evaluation has revealed that the missing greeting message is not the only functionality that vBNavtabs breaks on the vB4.2 mobile style. I understand that Dragonbyte Tech's position on incompatibilities between vBNavTabs and the vB4.2 mobile style is that the vB4.2 mobile style is "not fit for purpose." Be that as it may, I have discovered the additional issue. It involves an essential feature that vBNavTabs breaks on the vB4.2 mobile style which I feel is worthy of at least documenting on this forum.

The newly discovered issue is that when vBNavTabs is enabeled on vB4.2, the mobile style's back button (on the left side of the forum/thread title bar) vanishes, thus eliminating a way to access the navigation menu drop-down containing the links to move back to parent elements. Disabling vBNavtabs brings the button and its functionality back, just as with the vanishing greeting notice issue.

My question for DBT is whether your position is the same for this bug as well? (This question of course is based on your assertion that vB4.2 with its mobile style is "not fit for purpose," so any failed functionality caused by installing the product will be considered a nonissue.)

Never mind. I think I've not only fixed this issue... but in so doing I've fixed the missing greeting message issue as well. What I did is simply create a new navbar template in the mobile style that's a duplicate of the existing mobile style navbar template, but I named it dbtech_vbnavtabs_navbar. As a result, both of my issues on the mobile style are gone.
