Bug Quotes keep inserting into vBShout DB Table even if it's disabled

Hi,

I've disabled all vBShout integration but it is still inserting "Quote" notifications into the vBShout Database Table and it's slowing the Shoutbox down as it keeps getting bigger even with auto delete enabled. Please look into this. Thanks!

This is working as intended, because if the admin decides to turn on the feature the existing data will already be available to display.

Please shorten the auto-delete time if you need to keep your DB table in check.

Our auto delete time is already short. My problem is that these entries are not deleted. Only "Shouts" are deleted but not the quote notifications.

What version of vBShout are you running? I'm entirely unable to replicate this issue in v6.2.1.

All latest versions. Perhaps add an option to turn it off? I have to manually truncate the table every month to put it under control since we have a pretty active community.

Are the shouts being added to your main shoutbox instance, or is it an inactive shoutbox instance?

You can check the instance ID in the database table.

It is an inactive instance. I checked the settings on that instance and they are all disabled. Is there anything that I might have missed? The only option enabled on that instance was the PM option between users.

Actually, they go to all instances. Active or not.

I see. Is the inactive instance set up with an auto prune timer as well?

If not, please set one up. The mentions and other notifications will then keep themselves in check automatically.

An option to disable writing to the database would be most useful. It's still a lot of queries that should be saved since we're not using the feature and they multiply as we add more instances for different sections of the site.
