Does vbshout pro use more resources than lite version?

Installed vbshout pro yesterday. Does this use more resources than the lite version? My forums seems to have slowed down since installing pro version. I've enabled Shoutbox Optimisation and set to use filesystem.

This is a question, not a bug.

Pro uses a little bit more resources yes, but it shouldn't affect your server load.
You can try increasing the Refresh Rate for the shoutbox, to make it check for new shouts less often.

Is the a refresh rate setting you would recommend?

Also would [DBTech] vB Optimise Lite v2.0.1 help speed the forums up?

I would strongly recommend vb Optimize PRO. I just started to use it and love it very much. On our site,
SQL queries saved is approaching 1,000,000 in less than 4 days.

Try 5sec at first, then bump it up by 2 seconds each time.
