Active and Permissions appear to be set.

Both Receive Notifications For and Permanent Notifications - only unread Private messages works for me?

Note: I had to reset Notifications here on dbtech...upgrade? if this is normal users will not like it.

We did a re-install here! That is why the settings reset! :)

The reason you are only receiving notifications for private messages is because I had manually inserted that into your database. At some point when the request to check for notifications is made, your notifications are being disabled. I am going to debug this further today hopefully. It is quite a strange occurrence though!

I'm not getting notifications working on a new install except for the global ones...

Updating my old install on my test board seems to work fine though...

Installed a couple days ago, got a PM today and no notifications were listed by this mod, although I did get the standard vB popup box telling me I had new PMs. So I think this is the same issue as reported.

Let me know when you can tackle this bad boy. :)

Hmmm, the latest update should have solved it, to save some time could you pm David with a admin account and ftp info so maybe he can get it sorted for you.

David has both already and I think I am an unofficial tester the way things are going. ;)

Just to add my comment, I opened new thread. For some people it works fine (e.g. for me), for some partially (only PMs, that's why I put my comment here) and for some not at all. Very confusing...

Are you saying we should find that setting and change it?

Not necessarily, but it might help trace the problem if you can be sure. Check this setting in your Admin Control Panel and let us know what it is:

AdminCP > Settings > Options > Style & Language Settings > Store CSS Stylesheets as Files?

For me...Store CSS Stylesheets as Files is set to: No

I have change it to Yes and the black bar is gone but

Original issue remains from post #1

Glad that's helped, it might help track down the problem for David. You should find the forum runs a bit better. :)

David will need to check on that one, though if you can Rebuild Cache in the vBNotifications section of the AdminCP, it might be a starting point to see if it alleviates the issue.

Yes Mokonzi I did Rebuild Cache it did not alleviate the issue.
The only reason the unread Private messages shows up is because David hard-coded it.

I wonder if there is another vb option setting I could change?
