Please PM me with FTP information and an AdminCP account capable of Can Admin vBShout and Can Admin Styles.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I re-installed and now it's showing in the forums. How do I get it to show up everywhere?

To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Write down the the Varname setting. For the default shoutbox, it's instance1. The rest of this guide will assume you replace instance1 with the actual Varname if it is different.

Step 4: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw show.vbshout_instance1} (vB4) or {$show[vbshout_instance1]} (vB3) to the templates you wish the shoutbox to appear in.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

Hope that helps :)

If you want it in all locations then all you have to do is manually add it to the navbar template as per the instructions :)

The very bottom should show it beneath the vBulletin Notices, or you can put it directly beneath the ad_location.global_navbar_below or whatever in order to put it above the vB Notices :)

Hi, thanks for that, it helped a lot. It's showing everywhere now, but some of my vB mods, such as vbDynamics, are outside of the forum root, i.e. mydomain.com/forum/downloads, and it doesn't show properly there. I tried uploading the vBshout files to that folder, but then I received an internal server error. It would be really great if I could get it to show there as I can't seem to manage it with any other shoutbox
:(

Thanks for your time

In order to get it to show up in some custom mods, it may be necessary to add {vb:raw show.vbshout_instance1} to that template for the mod.

If that does not work, we are unable to assist with modifying someone elses modification. :(

Hi, yes I've done that but it won't show properly. I was just wondering if there could be a way to change the paths in the vBshout files so they would show anywhere.

Unfortunately that's not possible, those scripts must use a different method to load than the standard vBulletin way :(
