I just got this idea after realizing the delay. I was thinking to have the mirrors hidden and marked as:
[Mirror 1]
[Mirror 2]
[ect ... ]
and when they click on it they will see a page similar to the download delay but it says that you will be redirected in X seconds. ("X" being the number of seconds defined in usergoups)
In this way you can hide the mirrors for private downloads or those that require registration to download. Also use them for Ad showing as well.
I say that's one stone, 3 birds !!! or better say 4 birds, cause in this way you can measure download times by the number of times the delay screen is seen and if mirrors get under that category, then you can consider mirrors for number of downloads as well.
