Question How do I install correctly ?

HI

I wanted to try out the vbDownloads lite version but I have some questions.

How can I install it properly ? there is no read me, and I am confused on the integration part. i can figure the rest out, but integrating with vbcredits. how can i do that ?
If I purchase the full version, can I upgrade without loosing data ?
Is it possible to ask for personal Addons to be made ?

1) For the integration file, you need to have vBCredits installed and vBDownloads. You simply need to add it as a new product in your adminCP then!
2) Yes you can

All data is preserved!
3) It is certainly possible to allow for personal addons to be made. If you are looking for us to make them for you then there may be a problem as our schedule is pretty packed right now. You could of course post any feature suggestions you have here. Most of the new features in new versions comes from customers

something else before I install, you said that this mod does allow to set a limit on those who can download. as in they much have 1 post or "x" credits. right ? I also saw that you can turn the uploaded files in to a thread, correct ? so if it in a thread will they still get the "You need at least 1 post to download" thing ?

You certainly can prevent people from downloading until they have X posts

You can also charge them for downloading files using the integration product. If they do not have the required credits, downloading will fail.

The thread integration works like this:
1) User uploads new file.
2) If the category he is uploading to has a post to forum set then a new thread will be created. The new thread will contain a short description of the download and a link to it.

Do you have to install the vBCredits before the downloads... all im getting is an error msg

yes, Vbcredits MUST be installed first. then VbDownloads

just tryed it im getting this.........

The following dependencies were not met:

The product credits must be installed before this product may be installed. (Compatible starting with 1.0.0)
The product dbtech_downloads must be installed before this product may be installed. (Compatible starting with 1.0.0)

The screenshot you sent to me indicates that you do not have vBDownloads or vBCredits installed. You will need to install both of these before you can install the integration product.

Hi ..all have been installed ..but all i can see is the downloads button in My Profile. no button in the navbar.. everything seems to be installed ok...

You will need to configure the modules in the "Manage Modules" section. The navbar is controlled by the Global Modules! Hope this helps!
