Finally got vB Optomise Lite 2.01 running fine, including passing all tests.

So, purchased vB Optomise v2.03 PRO with one year support.

As per instructions, un-installed vB Optomise Lite 2.01, then installed vB Optomise v2.03 PRO .

Set up MAIN settings selecting Memcache as per Lite version and SAVED it.

Setup CACHE and Misc settings ...

Ran SYSTEM TEST and receive this message:

vB Optimise is currently offline. Please enable and configure vB Optimise to run a system test.

It is ENABLED just as it was under the Lite version which was working fine and the SYSTEM TEST was fine with it. :confused:

Un-installed and re-insalled vB Optomise v2.03 PRO and it still doesn't work. Same error message.

So, how to I get vB Optomise v2.03 PRO enabled so I can use it? :(

Thanks ... :)

Regards,
Doug

Update Edit:

My config.php file ..

PHP:
	// ****** DATASTORE CACHE CONFIGURATION *****
	// Here you can configure different methods for caching datastore items.
	// vB_Datastore_Filecache  - to use includes/datastore/datastore_cache.php
	// vB_Datastore_APC - to use APC
	// vB_Datastore_XCache - to use XCache
	// vB_Datastore_Memcached - to use a Memcache server, more configuration below
$config['Datastore']['class'] = 'vB_Datastore_Memcached';

	// ******** DATASTORE PREFIX ******
	// If you are using a PHP Caching system (APC, XCache, eAccelerator) with more
	// than one set of forums installed on your host, you *may* need to use a prefix
	// so that they do not try to use the same variable within the cache.
	// This works in a similar manner to the database table prefix.
// $config['Datastore']['prefix'] = '';

	// It is also necessary to specify the hostname or IP address and the port the server is listening on

$config['Datastore']['class'] = 'vB_Datastore_Memcached';
$i = 0;
// First Server
$i++;
$config['Misc']['memcacheserver'][$i]		= '127.0.0.3';
$config['Misc']['memcacheport'][$i]		= 11211;
$config['Misc']['memcachepersistent'][$i]	= true;
$config['Misc']['memcacheweight'][$i]		= 1;
$config['Misc']['memcachetimeout'][$i]		= 1;
$config['Misc']['memcacheretry_interval'][$i] = 15;

Could you ensure that, in the vBOptimise Main Settings, the online switch is set to Yes?

Absolutely it is ... ;)

I also notice the the Main Cache Settings appears to have a second "blank" line under it when viewed through the vBulletin Settings drop-down box, although you can click on the blank line and it takes you to the Misc Settings screen.

Doug

It just doesn't seem to recognize the ON setting with this PRO version whereas it did with the LITE version ...

Is there some manual way of turning it ON through a file somewhere?

Doug

Could the product be disabled? Check the Product Manager and see if it's enabled there too.

I'll look into the phrase business :)

I've fixed the phrase issue, if you re-download and re-import the product XML the blank issue should be gone :)

Nope...enabled fine ... ;)

If you can't figure it out, I can just go back to 2.01 LITE.

BTW, sorry, I've been referring to PRO as 2.03 when it says on the install it's 2.30 ... :eek:

I've done nothing else to the site except un-install LITE and install PRO, so there has to be something simple that's different between the two .... ;)

Doug

Will do ... :)

Edit: Problem fixed... no blank line any longer ...

Other problem still there ..

Could you try commenting out both instances of $config['Datastore']['class'] = 'vB_Datastore_Memcached'; from your config.php file?

I'll have to try that in the morning ...

It's late here and I'm an old guy (63) who needs to get to bed .... have to get up at 5:00 am so I'll test that for you later tomorrow and let you know how that worked ...

Doug

Is that right?

I have 127.0.0.1 and it works perfectly

Works fine ... thanks ..:)

As I've said several times, 2.01 LITE worked without a problem. Simply upgrading to 2.3.0 PRO does not work, so there must be something different .... ;)

Good morning Fillip ... :)

Ok, for whatever reason I don't understand, doing the above got vB Optomise v2.3.0 PRO to work properly, whereas vB Optomise Lite 2.01 passed all tests NOT needing that change.

I have a question about my file attachments and avatars, as they are currently stored in the database, but I'll open a second ticket for that. ;)

Thanks for your help ... :)

Regards,
Doug
