I imported all settings from vbSEO and so far everything seems great, excepts one thing:

I have an issue with the URL of posts.

Please have a look at my attached screenshot.

How can I change this to get back the URL format I had in vbSEO?

This is working as intended. The link you're seeing is intended to be a permalink to a specific post, in order to make sure that your post links will always work, regardless of the user's "posts per page" settings.

To elaborate: Let's say the forum sets the default "Posts per page" to 20. You, on the other hand, wish to not have to load multiple pages to read the whole thread, so you change it to 40.

If you then link someone to domain.com/threads/1-this-is-thread/page2.html#post50 this link will work for you, because post number 50 is on page 2. However, anyone with the default posts per page setting will see their page 2 (which only contains posts 21-40) and will not see the post you're linking to.

If, on the other hand, you link someone to domain.com/post-50.html#post50, this will correctly load page 2 of the thread for you, and page 3 for everyone who runs the forum default setting, and snap to the correct post.

This is the desired functionality in DragonByte SEO, and as a result we will not be changing that link.

As a Pro customer, you can customise the "Show Post URL" to more closely resemble your old URL, if the new display bothers you. However, you must still use the two variables listed in the description.

Problem with Thread Go To Post URL / Thread Go To Post (Paged) URL

Hi there,

I saw this support thread and thought this might be related - we are having trouble with setting:
Thread Go To Post URL:
Thread Go To Post (Paged) URL:

Here what they are:

Thread Go To Post URL:
[forum_title]/[thread_id]-[thread_title].html#post[post_id]

Thread Go To Post (Paged) URL:
[forum_title]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]-[thread_page].html#post[post_id]

Setting - Threads per page - is set to 10.

On forum display page:
401 Authorization Required

Link to Last post by is:
401 Authorization Required

Links within threads:
#2 : 401 Authorization Required
#2 2: http://tester3.forexpeacearmy.com/f...ers-lose-money-why-post163893.html#post163893

So it looks like it ignores "Thread Go To Post (Paged) URL" setting.

Please compare to live site:

Could you please explain when is "Thread Go To Post (Paged) URL" applied?

Could you please explain when is "Thread Go To Post (Paged) URL" applied?
If vBulletin presents an URL with the following format: showthread.php?p=%d&page=%d (where the first %d is the post ID, and the second %d is the page), then this setting will be applied.

In no other instances will this URL format be applied, because it would be extremely performance intensive to do so.

And which are cases when its presented /applied ?

If you make it in admin as "Thread Go To Post (Paged)" ... shouldn't it affect all paginated threads?
Seems bit confusing now ...

I can't think of any cases where it's applied at this time. The URL format was in vBSEO, so I created support for it as a result.
