Don't really think this is bug but nearest appropriate category:

Getting Mysql error 1153 max allowed packets:

even after increasing via:
Code:
# grep -i max_allowed_packet /etc/my.cnf

max_allowed_packet = 16M   "then tried = 32M  then even tried = 64M"

Database error in vBulletin 4.2.0:

Invalid SQL:UPDATE language SET title = title, phrasegroup_global= to much info to post

MySQL Version : 5.1.63-cll

Any suggestions would be appreciated :

You need to restart mysql after each time you increase the max_allowed_packet :)

We have it running at 128M here on DBTech :)

Just make sure in your ACP that MySQL does in fact report 128M available, if not then there's an entirely separate issue going on here.

Sadly I have never encountered this issue before so I don't actually know what could be causing it, if you can't figure it out then I'm sure your host can :)

Thank you as usual DBtech proves why your by far the best vbulletin mods etc to do business with. The host is working on this issue sorry to have taken your time but Thanks.

now lol :MySQL Packet Size 1.00 GB

Not a problem at all sir, we all went through this exact same scenario when we first learned about these things :D
