Question User ranks

How do i set user ranks based on this mod via the points earned. For example if a user notches up 100 points he becomes a lite user with certian forum permissions, 200 points and your user rank goes up to medium user with extra forum permissions..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DragonByte Tech: vBActivity - Promotions Settings (Pro)

Enable it

Then go to "Manage Criteria" and make a some as you wish them
Example: "Post >= 10"

Then go to "Manage Promotions"

Select groups that you want: Like Junior Members (From usergroup) promoted to like Advanced Members (To usergroup)

And chose a criteria
When they will obtain like "Post >= 10" then will receive the new usergroup

It is pretty much like DXT said, only thing you need to do is set the criteria first in DragonByte Tech: vBActivity/Manage Criteria

Add new criteria to your liking for points.

Then you would do the Manage Promotions, and Choose a criteria for each promotion level

And you would have to set up your usergroups to have the forum permissions for each level of promotion.

Thanks for all that, im sure abit of experimenting will get me there, though one more question regarding type in criteria, just wanted to know the difference between value and points?

The difference is that Value compares the value, i.e. the amount of Posts or Threads, whereas Points uses the points total from the Field, i.e. how many points you have got because of Posts or Threads.

Points = The amount of points you have for the specified action, as determined by points settings.
Value = The hard amount of times you've performed an action.

Did the manual not specify that? If not I'll get it looked at
