Apologies if this is already doable, just came to mind now :P

Ability to automatically grab/resize images that are above a certain filesize and/or on external servers. This will help prevent poorly optimised/overly large images from slowing down page load times.

Option that if image can't be grabbed/resized it is replaced with a default image.

Option that if an image is above filesize X it is replaced with a default image.

Image sizing is something that I have been trying to figure out the best method on how to do since before the product was released. My main hang-up right now has to do with the ability of the admin to specify slider size to best suit their forum, and then aspect ratio of images that get pulled into the slider, as users are just going to post whatever images they want. For example, if you had a slider that is 800x200, and it pulls in an image that is 300x800, what is the best way to display that image?

Like I said, its definitely something that I know needs to be addressed, and I want to address it, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do it.

I don't mean dimensions, I mean file size brother.

Well, it all kind of goes together in my mind. If you are going to be resizing the image anyway (to decrease file size), then you might as well dimension to image to work best inside the slider. So either way, it is something that is definitely under consideration/in planning. :)
