Converting from vbPlaza?

Is there a way to convert from vbPlaza to vbShop?

There's currently no available converter because we do not have a licence for it, so it'd be nigh impossible for us to write one
But I'm sure that you'll be able to re-create the items found there

Examine what items you created in vBplaza and attempt to replicate them by adding items in vBShop that have the same functionality and cost

I'm more concerned with porting over the points that members currently have. Unfortunately it's not as simple as changing the database name - many members have their money in the bank, which is a separate field.

vbplaza came with items already in it.
So I never had to add any myself ..lol Except for gifts that is

tavager, do you have vBCredits? If so, create a new currency and merge it with the one used by vBPlaza. Then when you get rid of vBPlaza you just need to set the vBShop to use that new currency and it should already be populated. You can test this by disabling vBPlaza instead of deleting it. If it doesn't work, enable it and we'll see what the next step is.

And by the way, I do *NOT* work with or for DragonByte so anything they tell you trumps anything I say. I'm just a busybody who has almost all of the DB products.

I might take a crack at it since I was already thinking about do this when vBCredit II Deluxe came out, if anything it will be a importer for pro only.

vBPlaza's storage system was way too complex, so we had to program something that only worked for that specific client - and even then, a lot of data got lost. I doubt we'll be able to release a proper converter
