This is half a question and half a suggestion: Have you given any thought to making a Video/Media Gallery in the future? I saw that the Video gallery modification I have been using is now abandoned and in the graveyard over at vbulletin.org (I noticed you posted in that thread too) and I was more than a little disappointed. Now I'm going to have to start looking into other video gallery options in the near future, because I like getting support for the things I have installed. Of course, every time I start to look for something it seems like you guys have already started on it, which is why I asked.

On a side note, can someone please explain to me what is going on with vBulletin and lawsuits and why that affects people doing modifications? I really hope it doesn't turn you guys away from what you are doing. I still see vBulletin as having a lot of potential and the products people like you make are what makes sites like mine even possible. I never want to go back to the mishmash of wordpress/phpbb/drupal/mediawiki that I used before vBulletin. Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr~~~~

No plans to do a video gallery at the moment.

The situation is basically the Kier and Mike, 2 guys who worked on vB during it's golden years, have launched a new forum platform (XenForo)

The current owners of vBulletin (Internet Brands) are trying to sure them for creating XenForo, which they announced publically the day before XenForos beta went on sale.

Many (Ourselves included) felt this was incredibly underhanded and designed to harm XenForos business instead of just improving their product and competing with XenForo.

We will not abandon our vBulletin customers though. Some other modders felt the only way to properly express their dismay at IBs actions was to remove all of the content they had contributed, which had likely gotten vBulletin some customers, and kept others (vBs modding community is a big selling point).

Hope that clears it up ^.^

Ah, all politics then. I suspect there is an undercurrent of that crazy "VB3 was better" mentality behind the whole thing. I started with VB4, so I don't have that problem :P

Personally, I think you guys have some of the best modifications out there right now. If other people are going to stop making mods it pretty much gives you the opportunity for that many more customers. :)

Depends whats mods...i think vb has the last opportunity to not lose a big parte of its huge customers base with a improved 4.1. We all hope to see a decent vb4 version...the alternative are Xenforo!

Very interesting. XenForo looks good!
Does Dragonbyte-Tech have any plan to develop Mod for XenForo in near future?

We already have 1 or 2 small mods out. We plan 3 more (somewhat larger) mods in the coming week or two =)

No thanks/like mod at the moment, since XF has an inbuilt like feature. we'll be evaluating whether or not people want a more in depth one down the road though =).

Honestly, the whole Xenoforo things scares me. Not because I'm afraid of change, but because I purchased VB4 at the beginning of this year with the hope that I wouldn't have to do any more major site changes for at least the lifetime of the 4.x series. At the very least, if things go sour, will DBTech still support their VB4 modifications until the 4.x series ends? I'm hoping it'll be a couple years, at the rate vBulletin is releasing upgrades right now.

DBtech is going to fully support the mods for vBulletin, vB is still planning on going to 5.0 sometime in the near future.

We still very much intend to stay on the cutting edge of forum mods and software, and keep pace with the needs of our customers (including creating new products). There will be little to no difference in product creation/upgrade time with the addition of XenForo mods to our portfolio

Once vbdownloads develops it should be possible to use it as a video directory. Thats what a downloads directory is for IMHO.

I would love if DB would develop a video/media gallery! You guys are the best in the game. I would certainly pay for this mod.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!

In case you are interested, I ended up switching to vbtube pro. It's decent, not perfect, but it is better than the free media gallery that is on vb.org.
