Weird problem! The shoutbox is showing in my other 4 templates and not in 1!?!?
I tried to add {vbshout} in the FORUMHOME, FORUMDISPLAY....any where actually lolll in the problematic template and it's not showing at all! Tho every other ones are fine and working like a charm but this particular template.....can't get it :(

Any ideas where i should check or had a code?????I also had some troubles with my stats and other plugins that wouldn't show but manage to add them with the "$template_hook[blablabla]"
Tried with $template_hook[vbshout] but no results either!

Tks guys

Since you didn't specify what template you had problems with, the only thing I can think of is that it's a custom page that may not load the vbulletin files in such a way that vBShout initialises properly.

What info do you need about the template? It's the Clubx360 style that is giving me trouble.
I just need the shout to show in the forumhome main page ;)
If you need me to post more info, pls tell me
tks

I'm posting this canned response first to see if it helps at all, if not then we'll try something else ;)

To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Change the Shoutbox Deployment setting to include the script names of all the pages you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter index, vbcms for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd remove the contents of this setting.

Step 4: Change the Manually Display Shoutbox setting to include the template names you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter FORUMHOME,vbcms_page for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd enter navbar for this setting.

Step 5: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw vbshout} (vB4) or {$vbshout} (vB3) to the templates you named in Step 4 in the desired location.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

Hope that helps :)

Tks for the reply Fillip H. but i already tried this option and it's not starting the shoutbox :(
Normally, the shoutbox should be called from the forumhome or forumdisplay?

By default it shows up on forumhome (index), so if you make it index, forumdisplay and leave auto deploy on, it should work.

hehehe, it's still not showing :( I think i will have a nervous breakdown! loll
Any other ideas Fillip H.?
Tks for the help by the way! I thinking to go PRO!?!

If you PM me with an Admin login with Can Admin vBShout, Can Admin Styles, I'll have a look as soon as I have the time :)

I don't like to bump but, did you recieve the info??
Need to fix this problem as soon as you can or just tell me where to search ;)

Cheers

I was quite busy today working on an update to another mod, but I'll take a look tomorrow, promise :)

The account you gave me does not have the required permissions to see the shoutbox, nor to view its own profile. Also, your Instance settings indicate that it should only show on the main page, not on forumdisplay.

Please change the account to have at least the same front-end permissions as a normal user would have, and also please re-state exactly what your intent is.
Are you trying to make it show up on forumdisplay.php? If so, do you mean for it to show in addition to the front page, or instead of the front page?

Ok, didn't thought to put the permission settings for shoutbox, oups loll as for where i want it to show, like all the other ones ,in the main page only.
I'm french Fillip H. ;) I guess it as to be in addition to it! I removed the forumdisplay out of the instance manager.

Tell me is it works on your side.
Tks
