Hey guys. First of all I think this a great mod and was looking forward to using it on my site hence the purchase of the beta. however after installing and running it I have decided to uninstall and remove the mod.

It was running fine when I only had say 7/8 members on however once peak times hit its cause a huge slow down on my server to a point where i couldn't access the acp for a while until the load decreased.

You guys will know more about servers and what not than me however since I uninstalled it everything is back to normal.

This is not to criticise of the mod as I think its awesome. Its just not for me or my site as of yet.

Keep up the good work.

Heya,

Thanks for the report - is it possible you could give us an idea of how many users are on at peak times, as well as what notifications you were displaying (and if possible how popular any of those features are?).

It's possible the lag was caused by people being notified about something being used constantly (e.g if your site had 40 members all thanking each other all the time).

Hopefully we can collect more info on it and make some optimizations to make it more big-board friendly ^.^

Hey Cosmic, Thanks for the reply. Anyway that I can help i will.

All I had setup was the notifications for PM's, visitor messages and also we run the tournaments and ladders system thats on vbulletin.org and that includes messaging when a player is challenged. I did drop this option but still had slow down when the other 2 were running.

During non peak hours I normally have around 7/8 members and it was running fine but at peak there is usually about 15-30 members on. We do use a hell of a lot of PM's to get information to members so im thinking with them all logging on this would of caused the extra load.

Not sure if its the same but i use the vBShout pro for notifications ( i disabled this option when I installed the above BTW) and when at peak time its perfect.

Hope that makes sense to you guys.

What type of server are you running, shared, vps, dedicated, what is your server specs, what is your max connections, what version of php and mysql do you have?

Hardware RAID 10
CentOS 5 Operating System

PHP Version 5.2.17
MySQL Version 5.0.92

How would I go about finding my max connections Ozzy?

That's probably not a issue with the max connections, when David is available he should be able to see if something is going on that is causing the slowdown.

During peak check how your serer is running and re enable it again. Just to confirm it is the mod and not a once off other incident.
