I've made vB eCommerce to the state we're able to use it, although it's still in beta form and missing some core features - it may be out in the future however. FYI, it only sells/distributes digital content, nothing else :)

Unfortunately it's on low priority right now due to the nature of the product (only a select few would actually want to buy it), so we can't confirm a solid ETA yet unfortunately.

Humongous bump!

This sort of mod could have been fused with vbShop in some way. I would have purchased vbShop if there was some sort of way to sell digital goods with Paypal or vbCredits II Deluxe currency...

Regards,

if/when we do a storefront mod, it will be done professionally and well, not just as a little bolt on to something like vBShop. The problem is the market for this kind of thing is small compared to the length of time it would take to do it properly.

There will be uspport for purchasing credits being added to VBC2D though, so you could conceivably use vBShop like that if you only need it for small scale stuff ^.^

Just another vote for PayPal and vBShop. I don't want people buying credits using VBC. What I DO want to do is make it so that people can purchase a "donation" gift. That way they can get donations and then have an icon in their postbit, showing it.

If PayPal were added to VBC (I think it's a good idea), this wouldn't help what I wanted to do. Yeah yeah, it's not all about me, but I'm pointing out that putting it in VBC, doesn't solve all use cases.

Totally agree. vbCredits should stick with accumulating points from actions and allow us to donate to other members or spend credits to use the arcade/vbookie/other dbtech mods.

vbShop, in the other hand, should have a Paypal extension that allows members to purchase vbCredit points or specific features (preferably custom usergroup).

I think vbShop with some sort of digital goods (at LEAST digital goods) would be a nice feature to add into vbShop as well as a Paypal implementation.

I bought vbShop today and I hope I don't regret the purchase, but so far, I am enjoying the small features it provides. ;)

Depends how robust it will need to be, managing digital goods isn't a straight forward task and we've actively developed vB eCommerce for our own purposes only but it's a far cry from anything we'd sell commercially, shoving that onto vBShop is an extreme update.

Right, so just a PayPal addon that charges money for the virtual items would be good. The rest of the stuff is already there other than the PayPal aspect. So... Maybe a Paypal addon that you can then use to attach to various products you have written. That would keep the majority of the PayPal code out of the products and into one codebase, with hooks into the various products.

Sounds simple enough, doable :p

I think if you had your current system of a Lite and Pro version, you might find there are a lot more who would want something like this than you realize tbh. It's the one thing that seems to be really lacking from the vB systems.
