Out of nowhere my shoutbox did this and kept refreshing as that
Like any normal person I disabled it, re-installed the mod, and enabled it. Still didn't work. I created a new instance and thankfully that worked. Just wondering what was up and how I can go back to using instance1.
Unfortunately I was never able to reproduce this issue and all sites I checked were also unable to reproduce it as soon as I gained access.
Since it works with a new instance, it sounds like it could be an issue with either the sticky or one of the shouts posted in your current instance. Are you able to "break" instance 2 by setting the same sticky or re-posting some of the shouts posted?
Nope. I have all the same settings and everything for the new instance and it is working fine. But if I re-enable instance1 it's still flipping out on me.
Could you configure the usergroup permissions for instance 1 so that only your admins or some such can access it, then PM me with the login info to a user in that usergroup that is experiencing this issue? That along with an FTP account will hopefully let me figure out what's happening and fix it
sometimes i get a similar error when i'm clicking to change pages, although my error doesn't say exactly the same as that posted it consists of a long ass string of f's and other numbers, this happens randomaly and the shoutbox itself works fine, i'm also using instance1 so i'm wondering if its something to do with that instance, its had very little impact on the shoutbox overall so i've never really bothered to report it or try to fix it but i suppose if its broken it could use fixing the only problem is i'm not able to know when it will spaz out so taking screenies and things is rather difficult.
EDIT: I used to be able to have a better chance of replicating it by logging into another users account using VsA log in as user Mod this used to throw up strings of letters when i tried to shout in the shoutbox, but again it was random but one thing i did notice was that if i was logged in as another user i'd get an error saying something to do with the shout couldn't be posted because i didn't have acess or there was an error, i forgot which but pressing the back button always then showed what i'd shouted with that user. however in the newest version that problem seems to of been fixed so i cannot really replicate it either. however i've noticed that since you released the newest version this random error thing has happened maybe once or twice, it used to happen more frequant on the previous version. I too use stickies with link in them so i'm not sure what other info i can give that may help in replicating the problem. it seems semi-fixed though in the newest version.
ahh that probably the error i got then, i've noticed with the newer version the error meesage just says something like Error: Js something. i've not seen any of those long strings of stuff yet so maybe you've managed to fix it by condensing the long error mess to a small error message. either way it appears to be fixed so kudos
