I have been looking forward to this mod but wanted to try the lite before I upgraded. I've had some trouble.

1) I installed the mod with no errors. Launching a new browser instance I logged out and tried to create a new account. There are two screens Age and everything else. After filling out both pages I was returned to the first. No user was added, it was in a loop.

1a) Trying to figure this out I noticed that I was still using the OLD registration. The registration link was not pointing to the mods registration.php but instead the vb default register.php. So that problem must have been present and I didn't know.

1b) I uninstalled the mod at this point. No, I'm not sure why either. I guess I just wanted to make certain that registration WAS working with nothing bothering it. I received no errors.

1c) I discovered that for whatever reason the default human verification was the culprit. So... after changing it to question/answer I was ready to give the mod a try.

1d) Upon trying to re-install the mod I get the following database error:
Database error in vBulletin 4.2.0:

Invalid SQL:

INSERT INTO `dbtech_registration_field_nonprofilefield`
(fieldid, varname)
VALUES

MySQL Error : Duplicate entry 'username' for key 'varname'

And now the mod doesn't even show up on my list of installed mods. This means I have a half-installed mod and that worries me. Please assist.

1) I'm not sure what you mean by "There are two screens Age and everything else".

1a) Members still register through register.php - not registration.php.

1d) I've updated the product file to compensate for possible duplicate varnames. Please re-download the and re-upload the files, specifically: upload/dbtech/registration/install/100.php.

Alternatively, you can delete any tables within your database prefixed with dbtech_registration - I can assist you with this if requested.

If you are still suffering problems please let me know.

Sorry to have been so vague.

When clicking register I see screen one which asks for date of birth (for coppa reasons). Once that is accepted and the date entered shows the new user as age 13 or older, registration then proceeds to page two.

Page two is where username, password, etc are entered. Once the form is complete and the checkbox for accept the rules is checked, the registration is processed.

In my case registration was NOT being processed, it was looping back to page one.

Again, I don't think this was an issue with your mod. When I changed my human verification to something other than Captcha, registration worked as expected.

I will try the updated files tomorrow sometime and report back.

Thanks for the assistance.

That's odd. If you'd like I could take a look at your site and possibly determine why you are having that problem with captcha only. It may be some sort of error that nobody else has come across (they're more likely than you think!).

I would never pass up to have a true professional take a look :) I will PM you the FTP and Admin credentials for my dbguest user account.

Thanks again. Not only to you guys make the best mods in the business, but you truly back it up with support. I try and go pro every chance I get to support you guys.

Okay

The issue had to deal with captcha and COPPA being used in conjunction. When a user fails a question, the error updates with AJAX - no page refresh. However, if a user fail captcha the page does refresh. The appropriate COPPA variables were not being parsed correctly in the template so when the page refreshed there was no age values within the data sent to the server which caused it to fall back to the COPPA form.

I believe I have patched this issue on your forum. Please let me know.

Yes this issue is indeed fixed and I think you. However I think there are still a few issues.

1) I'm not clear on the pre-registration email system. After I input all my information I'm sent an activation email just like default vb even with the pre-registration option checked. In addition there are no pre-registration emails logged as sent on the registration status page.

2) Also on the registration status page clicking on the details link brings up a blank screen.

Sorry to be such a pain, but I would appreciate the assistance. I think I could get a lot of use out of this mod should it work on my forum.

Thanks in advance.

Pre-registration isn't done if you're just accessing the registration page. As of now, it's only directly accessible with closed registration, system enabled and override options. This will show you a page where you enter your email. An email is sent to this address. You must verify your email using this link before you're allowed to register.

There was a template error. I've hotfixed this on your site.

Thanks for the hotfix and the clarification. I greatly appreciate your time. I do however wish there was an option to verify email BEFORE registration.

There is.

Set your registrations to closed, then go to the verify email settings. Make sure the system is enabled and that override disabled registration is enabled as well.

The only downside to this is the register link will be removed, it'd have to be added manually. This will be fixed in the next release.

I understand and thanks for the clarification. Is there anyway to conditionally deploy the register link? So that it doesn't show to everyone only those not logged in? Or is that in the next release?

The register link will be working as intended in the next release. If you'd like I can apply a hotfix to your site to show the register link when registrations are closed through vB but allowed through this product.

If so let me know, and if you've changed any of the credentials since last time I've worked on your site let me know too. :)

That is not necessary I can wait for the next version unless of course you want to test it out on my configuration. If you do I have yet to disable the credentials I PM'd you. At the moment I have another issue to deal with unrelated to DBTech.
