I am wondering if you can comprehensively describe the "Invite" feature of this product.

For example, is it possible to click any member's name anywhere it appears [and is clickable] in vBulletin, and in that "popup" that opens giving options like view profile, etc, it allows me to "Invite" them to chat?

Please be detailed in the description.

Also, does this work on VB4.0.3 PL1, and can I have it a) on every page, and/or b) make a dedicated page for it (nothing else on that page)?

If B) is impossible by regular means, if I use the "custom pages based on forum mod" from here: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=232324 Could I implement vbShout only on that page?

Lastly, you will want to update the product description page. It's perfectly fine to make notes, but gives a sense of lack of professionalism when they are published:

Thanks.

Thanks for pointing that out - obviously an oversight on our part =)

The invite is usable through the shoutbox, not from anywhere in the forum. If you want to invite someone who's not online in the shoutbox etc, you can simply type in /invite username in the desired chat tab, and they will see the invite the next time the look at the shoutbox. They will also here a sound and see the tab flash within a certain amount of time (settable via ACP) whether they are active in the shoutbox or not.

It works fine on 4.0.3 (Thats what we run here) You can have it on whichever pages you choose, and there is a "detach" option which runs the shoutbox purely on it's own page.

Hope that answers your questions =)

I tried doing /invite from the main shoutbox window, and it gave an error saying invalid room. Does that mean I can't invite anyone to the main shoutbox?

Also, say the situation is one where I have the shoutbox on every page of my vBulletin (side question: can it be shown on every page of the CMS & Blogs also?), will it show me each time someone new loads a page with the shoutbox on it? How will I see it? If the answer to the former is yes, then is it for admins only, or does everyone have that sort of viewing? Is there any way to get someone's attention (like an invite) into the main shoutbox?

How often can the shoutbox be set to reload content, or can it be dynamic?

Thanks.

Correct. You can also not invite people to chat rooms you create in the AdminCP.
Only chat rooms you manually create via the button (or the /createchat command - both do the same thing)

No, there's no alert when a member loads a shoutbox. The closest thing is when they shout, which is when they'll appear in the Active Users side-block (and the Active Users count will increment by 1).
And that is indeed public.

(side question: can it be shown on every page of the CMS & Blogs also?)
Indeed it can :)

Nope, not currently.

That's an option in the AdminCP vBulletin Options section, though setting it too low might have serious performance impact on your server, depending on how awesome it is ;)

Hope that answers everything, if I missed anything don't hesitate to point it out to me :)
