I just tested to see if it works. I purchased username change to be underlined, but can not see my username underlined anywhere.

I just tested it and it works fine for me :)

underline.webp

It also shows up on showthread, didn't screenshot that though.

I am glad it works for you, it does not for me however. See screenshot.

Is there something I can check? Thanks.

Could you please boost the "Gils" balance of my account Fillip H. to at least 250 so that I can purchase the item and test it out? :)

Could you please also PM me with an FTP account? Looks like I need to dig through the files to figure out why it doesn't work for you :)

The issue is that you have the "Force Formatting" option turned off and as such, a lot of areas won't show the correct formatting. However, enabling this option can have an impact on performance.

I'm currently working on implementing compatibility for vBShop into other DBTech mods so that force formatting isn't required in so many cases :)

So this impact on performance, where will it be felt/present when turned on?

It's very minor, but basically what it does is fetch the list of purchased items whenever the coloured username is displayed, if the information is not already available.

OK, but will this be across my forum, or just inside the shop?

It appears to be not so minor. I have about a 13 sec average delay on the opening of any page of my forum now. Please test this on forums that has like 40 000 pageviews a day. I have a CDN running and this is really bringing me down.

Unfortunately we don't have access to such a testing site :(

Fillip, with all due respect mate. I have offered to test before, but was just ignored. So just say it straight.

This mod is really causing huge lag on my forum, so just tell me what you need to do, and it is done.

Can you link me to a page on your forum where this issue occurs? I just browsed around your forum for a couple minutes and I did not encounter this issue at all, page load times were most excellent.

I will disable vbshop, and then you will see how fast load times really is. Please man, just forget about it. I just say things to seek attention.

I just did a quick demo video to show you that I'm not trying to brush you off:

As you can see, I'm not getting the same performance hit as you are, so it's unfortunately very hard (if not impossible) for me to assist in fixing an issue I can't replicate on your site :(

To add some context: I'm currently using half my available bandwidth for torrents, and DBTech also loads pretty much exactly the same speed as your site for me.

Are you or anyone in your household perhaps using an uncapped BitTorrent client during the times you encountered the performance hit? For ADSL based internet, it's generally recommended to cap your downloads at 70-80% of your total available bandwidth (so if you have 10 mbit you'd cap it at between 7 and 8 mbit, which is 1280 kb/sec). Uncapped torrent downloads (or uploads, as is the case with ADSL based internet) could very well cause this kind of slowdown, as I experienced first-hand when Cosmic yelled at me for slowing down his po... eh I mean music streaming.
In my defence I had never used ADSL based internet before :p

Be nice... ;)

But seriously, I just tried your site and saw that there were a few slow things, but ultimately the page loaded in a few seconds. What I saw as loading slow, were the ads. your site itself seemed to load fine, except for when there were ads before your page content loaded. Not sure if this is the ultimate issue you're having, but the ads were slowing you down.

I decided to load your site in FireFox and check it out with FireBug. Your main page is 9meg of data to download it.

You load this every few seconds: http://creativx.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=29975 which is taking about .5 seconds to load.

Here's a partial screenshot of the page load times I'm getting to your site, maybe this will help some.
