Question Clearing notifications automatically

So this is more of a suggestion, even though you aren't taking them at the moment, it's not something I've seen mentioned, etc.

I think that notifications should be automatically cleared (or the option to set it so they are), when you perform the action that tripped the notification in the first place.

If I have a notification about an unread PM and I read the PM, the notification should clear. If I read a thread that I was quoted in, it should clear, etc. I'm not sure how difficult this would be, but I find that I end up going and clearing notifications after I've already completed the action (such as reading threads, PMs, etc).

It's actually more work to than anything else. Maybe an option to clear all notifications if you can't clear them "intelligently" would be good. This is the same issue as with vB's default notifications, so it's not something really wrong here, but something that would make this system a hell of a lot more user friendly IMO. =)

Yes, I think that we need system that would make notifications useful (i.e. notify us about something) and not as bothersome as it is right now (stock vB).

The only way I have experienced with notifications not being cleared is the pm one, all others once I visit the tab in profile they don't show up anymore.

The way I have fixed the pm issue is to tick the pm's in my inbox and mark all as read, otherwise once you receive new ones it does not seem to know you read the previous ones.

If I have two tabs open on different pages on my forum, the notification comes up on both, but after, lets say viewing the PM, it does not automatically clear on the other open page that now still has the notification about the PM. Is this normal? Because that is now causing a clutter of notifications on this other page.
