It would be great if we could be a little bit more detailed with some the items we can offer. For instance, instead of username color being a simple yes or no, it would be great if we could actually create an item around each color.
So instead of an item for allowing a user to change their username color, we could create an item to change their username to blue, another item to change their username color to yellow, etc.
The same could be done for user titles. Instead of just an item to let the user change their title, you could create an item to change their title to "Grandmaster" and another item to change their title to "Senior Member", etc.
This has a few advantages. The biggest of these is that it allows you to keep them out of the realm of admins/mods. For instance, on our forum, mods have yellow usernames and admins have red usernames. If someone buys an item that lets them change their username color to anything they can set it to those same colors that only a mod/admin should have. The same goes for user titles, if they have free reign they can change it to "moderator" or "admin".
Additionally, it allows you to have scaling levels of items around the same set. Everyone on our forum seems to want a blue username, so naturally it would be great to be able to create a blue username item that costs more than, say, a white username. That way it would limit the number of people that can afford it and remain more exclusive without totally shutting off the majority of the forum from changing their color at all.
Basically, the username field would give us access to set the html markup field for our items that we create, and the titles would give us access to setting the user title field for items.
I think (and correct me if I'm wrong here, because I haven't tried it yet) that right now this can be worked around with usergroups. I could create a usergroup called "Blue Name" and change the html markup in that usergroup to a blue username, then let users purchase items to change their usergroup to that group. That would get cumbersome really fast though, and be really difficult to manage (IE if you wanted to change something in your main usergroup you'd have to go change it in the 30 additional usergroups that you created to build items around, etc).
