Legacy Cache Templates in File System

This is actually a bug but when I go to submit the bug it does not like my product version

Not sure why or how but it seems to conflict with the vbdynamics mod. When this is enabled seems to make the mod forget the directory that mod is in. If I type in the link it works but thats it.

The first guy on the list would be

If I enabled Cache Templates in File Systems it becomes

Why would it do this? It seems like it has the potential to conflict with other mods.

It will indeed conflict with a lot of modifications that modify the raw templates directly.

It's actually more fitting as a feature request, because I can add an option to disable some of the performance benefits with storing templates in the file system to prevent conflicts with these mods

Yes he is saying he will look into it for a future version. For now it won't work with alot of modifications that modify the raw templates directly.

I see this has been done. I do want to make sure I am doing it right though. Only 1 of the 2 settings needs to be enabled, right?

Both the main "Cache Templates in File System" AND the Compatibility setting needs to be enabled.

We're looking for feedback as to whether this setting works with the mods you're running, if not then feel free to link us to the vb.org page of the mod and I'll see about re-testing it with that mod

It still messes up my rewrite for vbdynamics. They don't have a vb.org page but here is the link

The only thing that messes up is it removes the directory from the url name. Also I show avatars beside the username on the page that shows the threadlist and this disappears when I enable this. Everything else works great.

In that case, they are most likely directly modifying the $vbulletin->templatecache variable, which is going to be empty.

For the time being, that's not fixable. I have some ideas that I can try out, but I can't guarantee when I have something tangible ready for public consumption

For what it is worth, I run a separate style on that plugin.
