Question Adding a Chat button on Nav Bar

I want to add chat button like the below image

When a member will click on the Chat tab, it should open a new window. How do i do that ?

Name the tab what you wish

URL to tab should be

http://www.YOURSITE.com/vbshout.php?do=detach&instanceid=1

Replace YOURSITE with your url, and if the shout is a different instance id change instanceid=1

Tab Mode THIS_SCRIPT

SET the THIS_SCRIPT value to vbshout

And the rest is up to you

I am confused. Please help. As per you this post I have added Chat button On Nav Link and Below Nav Link. Now when I click on the chat link it shows below screen

I am not sure, as I stated in the other thread that info may be dated. If you follow my above post #2 you can add the chat tab with the vBNavTabs mod.

By following above post 2 i have added the Tab. As I am using pro version of vbshout, i am expecting a new window for the shoutbox when members will click on the New Tag (Chat button on nav bar)

Also note, if you remove the template edit you did to show the chat tab, and re enable the vBNavTabs mod, clicking on the Chat tab you made with the product, opens to a new page.

Wow. Its working now. Thank you so much. I know its a wrong place to ask but most of my members are complaining about the auto scroll issue. Last shout is not at all visible. one has to scroll down manually to see the other's shout...any help on this please ?

Why not just set, Shout Default Display Order to Newest First in instance management?

One small question... when I click on Chat from the navbar, it doesn't open a new windows. And how do i change the shout height only for the new window ???

Did you remove the template edit you did to show the chat tab, and re enable the mod vBNavTabs? The Chat tab you made with that mod does indeed open in a new window.

To change the size of the chat in the new window,in instance management change the setting, (Pro) Shoutbox Height (Detached) from 300 to a higher number.
