When people try to nominate someone for awards that have special characters in their username, they are told it is an invalid username.

For example:
Joe's Dad

I am unable to confirm this issue on vBulletin 3.8.7 :(

Is that an actual username that's been rendered unable to be nominated, or are there other, specific ones I can test?

You reported the product version as 1.1 the current version is 2.1.9 please upgrade to the latest version.

Also when you report a issue please include the foll vB version like 3.8.7 not 3.8

I didn't know the version of the mod. But is the latest. It was just installed 2 weeks ago by your staff.

vbulletin is 3.8.2

You can find version numbers by going to the Product Manager :)

In either case, can you try using a different browser? I tested it in Firefox 7.0 when I wrote my previous post.

Works fine now :)

I created a user called Te'stTest and tried to nominate them for the LMAO Award, it worked fine. I did not change anything in the files prior to testing this.

I'm quite stumped as to what could be the issue =/

Aha, that explains it, it worked with all chars except chars like & and % and other such chars that were converted into HTML Entities.

Hotfix applied on your site :)
