What is the PM quote post system, Should you be able to PM someone from a forum post and it quotes their post for you. If not what does it do.

Thanks.

What it does is automatically PM the person you are quoting if they have it enabled in their usercp PM Post Quote Settings and you have it enabled in the ACP options.

Not a problem, glad to help. If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask. :)

Did you set it to Yes in your usercp PM Post Quote Settings / Post Quote Active

Yes, turned it on a few hours ago and just come online and seen several of my posts quoted but not got any pm's.

That's strange it should be working.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

I will also create my own test user to try and trouble shoot this, is there any particular forum I should post in? I will delete any post after I am done testing.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Thanks for the access, I was able to track down the issue and fix it on your site. It seems I was missing a plugin in the package so it was not sending the PM. Sorry for the trouble, and thanks again for letting me have access so I could fix the issue.

This could do with setting to off by default in users settings. When I turned this feature on it's on by default for every user. Lots of them are complaining and asking how to turn it off. :D

By default it has to be on, due to the fact that f you enabled it, and it was off by default, no one would ever know the feature existed.

I agree with handyman on this. Having it on by default will annoy hundreds/thousands of my users. It's simple to notify members that there is a new feature available, then they have the option to decide if to use it or not. I'd much prefer the default to be off. In fact, I'll probably leave this option disabled and add the facility via a separate mod.
