How do I tell what, if any caching system I have on my host?

I did a PHP info and searched for each of the listed supported caching systems, but couldn't find a match. Is this the correct area? If so, I'm outta luck and can't use the mod.

If this is the wrong thing or there's another way to check, please let me know. =)

Generally XCache/APC/Memcache/eAccelerator tell you somewhere in your phpinfo(). However installing them isn't too difficult, or your host could do it.

Keep in mind, the Filecache system requires no extension, that caches data directly on your servers hard-drive, so if the above aren't available there's always that :)

Ahh ok, I'll just install it and see how it goes then as I read in another thread you posted that your mod will auto detect anything else, etc. Wasn't aware there was the default filecache or how it works. Thanks!

Yeah if you try to select a cache system that isn't installed, vBO will deny it to stop you breaking the forum :)

Ok, installed with the file system. No idea if it's better or not yet, but it's there and everything appears to be working just fine.

Awesome stuff, unfortunately the Lite version doesn't give you an insight to the queries saved, but if you enable debug mode on your forum you'll be able to tell via queries how they're reduced (turn vBO on/off to do comparisons). This reduction in queries = less server resources :)

Be sure to run a System Test too (in ACP) to make sure the filecache is working fully :)

Yeah, I checked that out and I think I failed all but one of them. heh So I doubt it's doing too much right now, simply due to my current configuration.
