Bug Can not import product xml

For some reason no matter what I adjust settings to in php/mysql/webserver I can not get the produt to import. I keep getting this error,

upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading upstream,

I have upped my timeouts to ten minutes and still get it. I'm out of ideas

Well I'm not using Rails, just straight nginx for the web server. The strange thing is, people upload 100mb videos to my site all day long and I never have an issue. I also upload product xml's all the time with no issue. This one just seems to hang, goes to a white page, and stops.

I'm at a loss then, nobody else has this problem and our XML files are bog standard exported with vB4's exporter...

Did he chmod the file folders?
