This is a formal request for what I asked about in Pre-Sales, but I'd like a way to be able to call the slider from anywhere I choose via some kind of code that could be included in my template. I'm planning on putting it in a specific place in my (rather large) header.

This feature is already in the works, but thank you for making the formal request.

Still working on this. I can get to to show up anywhere in the forums, yet it doesn't work in the header or footer. :/ I will continue to try to get it to work.

I might be able to give a clue, I hope. In my new header I also put the Quick Language Chooser up there, which I took right out from that part below the footer. If I just copied the code it would make the selection box but the contents would be broken/empty. I just followed the directions here, but changed languagechooserbits to quickchooserbits and changed the array from navbar to header: How to Move Vbulletin Language Chooser from Footer to Navbar | iPankaj

Hopefully this will give you a hint on how to make it load correctly? I tried to take these directions and make them work for cms widgets before, when I was trying other sliders, but I'm not advanced enough to figure it out.

I did make some progress on this. I was able to get it to display inside of the header. But of course, another issue came up. Once it made it through all of the slides once, it just stopped. So its like the javascript stops functioning after the first time through. Just wanted to give you an update to let you know I'm still looking into it. :D

Thanks for all the effort! Did my post help at all or were you past that point already? :P

I had a thought about this. I'm guessing some javascript is being called after the header is loaded, which could stop it from functioning completely when placed in the header. Would it be possible to make the slider's main code be stored in the footer or the end of the page somewhere, and when the site loads to that point the slider gets called in its correct location? This would probably also have the bonus of faster loading times for pages with the slider turned on.

...or it's possible I have no idea what I'm saying at all. I'm not a programmer after all :P

No, it helped out some. I haven't gotten around to messing with it yet, as work has been keeping me busy. Unfortunately, since this is only a feature request, and it hasn't turned out to be an easy one, it gets put lower on the list. :( You aren't forgotten though!

Thanks for keeping me in mind and updated! I still have my fingers crossed that you'll get it figured out within the next month or so ;)

This has been implemented in the latest release, v2, now available for download. Sorry it took so long to get figured out. Let me know how it works out for you!

Thank you very, VERY much! I'm going to test it out tomorrow on my day off! This means I may finally be able to complete my site's new theme, which has me thrilled! :)
