What do you really think of vB5?

Now that the software went gold, what do you really think about the product?


Here is my personal opinion:

Pros:
- I like the design
- Sitebuilder is useful
- Feels less bloated than vB4, good thing
- Built in Like System
- Easy to edit avatars
- Image viewer is nice
- Uploading content is nice
- Login menu is neat


Cons
- The product should have never have been released without the CMS.
- The Comments option is terrible, plus when someone comments it shows that as the last reply in the thread...horrible idea.
- Terrible choice in editor, advanced editor should be available always
- Notification system is terrible, having to go to a separate page to dismiss notification is horrible.
- Editing Signatures is a pita, most users will take several hours trying to find that functionality, right now it's buried in the users settings page.
- Mobile viewer is too cluttered, needs a redesign, right now everything appears to be busy.
- Pagination up top is horrible, they should re-introduce how they use to pagination in vB3 & vB4.
- Topics, post, & last post looks too cluttered, there should be better design options.
- Groups page has probably received 0 attention.
- Blogs needs a redesign, the way it looks now, not many will look at it, let alone ever use it.


I have a feeling this release is duplicating the vB4 release which is a disappointment.

The software has potentials, but the way things are, I am not sure if enough people will consider even upgrading to vB5 in a year or two..or never.

Well I Bought it..I got a new license and have it up as a test board..will I use it to upgrade my main site anytime soon..no..not hardly..

I agree with most of the pro's and cons you have listed..except for the fact I didnt like the white border around the avatars..So I removed it looks much better in my opinion..I dont like the fact that it resizes the avatars in the postbit to 64x64 regardless of how you setup permissions..unless I have missed something that allows one to do differently..I agree that it should not have been released without the CMS ..I dislike the fact that they did not have it come out of the box with a link for new posts and or todays posts..I guess they figure everyone should just stare at the main page..and also there is no button to click on that takes you to the last post of a thread..Why..

I have a few more dislikes but I do think it has potential..it may take a while for it to be at a point that people will consider it more..
