Bug Thanks/Like mod is not allowing exclusivity

I want it to show both Thanks and Like (and custom button) but I don’t want people to be able to both Thank and Like a post at the same time.

I’m aware of the exclusivity in the button manager; however, it never works when I click for exclusivity and check to see if it works on the forum.

You're going to have to be more specific than "it never works" I'm afraid

If you check "Likes" under the Exclusivity header for "Thanks", it will make it so that the Like button can't be clicked when you've clicked Thanks.
That does not, however, mean that clicking "Likes" will automatically disallow "Thanks" as well.

You need to set it up both ways.

As in, I’ve done exactly what you said and it does not work.

I have it checked for thanks and for like. It doesn’t matter what I do or don’t have checked. I can never make it so that a user can only thank OR like, while still having both options.

There’s no way to keep someone from doing both, AND if they do both, they can’t unlike or unthank.

Alright, I just uploaded 2.1.3 and now the unthank and unlike work if you do both; however, I can STILL do both no matter the exclusivity.

This site was affected by the problem you describe, but with the latest APTL hotfix, this is no longer possible. You can test it yourself on this post

Yea, the issue about not being able to unthank/unlike is fixed. I did mean 1.1.2

The issue about being ONLY able to LIKE OR THANK has not been fixed. The exclusive function isn’t working. Maybe test it out on this site and see if it’s working?

Uh oh.

Some other issues:
The exclusivity works on Thank/Like/Dislike, but it doesn’t work on the custom buttons. In fact, when I checkmark the boxes and save, it doesn’t stay saved. Also the “un(custom button)” doesn’t work for any of the custom buttons.

You did not set up the exclusivity correctly.

You set Dislike to be exclusive with Hugs, but Hugs are only exclusive with Thanks. They saved perfectly fine for me

I set Hugs to be exclusive with Dislike, and discovered a problem with buttons sometimes becoming exclusive with themselves.

I've corrected this problem on your site and patched the release.


If you have any further issues, please start a new thread
