Hiya! I just went live with my vb site and its shoutbox, and I'm wondering if a little bit of my new, higher server load is coming from the shoutbox. I've tried modifying the settings a little, but I wondered if you have a suggested settings list for how to make sure the shoutbox can't overload. People aren't necessarily chatting much yet, but it does load and refresh any time someone is on the forum home.

Put Auto-Idle on, make it so guests can't view the shoutbox. That will take care of the vast majority of load.

Basically it means only people chatting will be taking up resources =)

I'd set the idle timeout to something higher if you're using auto idle though, means your chatters don't miss stuff - maybe something like 20mins would be good.

I'm sorry, I can't find a place to turn Auto-Idle on or off, just places to put in numbers for seconds or minutes. Which option does this? Thanks for the quick response btw.
