We are using vbcredits II deluxe version 2.0.0. It was working fine until we have upgraded our mysql to MySQL 5.5 (Old one was 5.0). After our 5.5 upgrade the hack caused several problems like login problems, page hang outs, blank pages etc. for many users. We disabled the product temporarily in vb admin cp and problems are cured at the moment. However we need a fix to get it working in mysql 5.5 as well, so please advise if your newer versions of the hack is compatible with mysql 5.5 or not?

This modification is indeed compatible with MySQL 5.5, it has ben used extensively on servers with 5.5 & 5.6 installed :)

Please try disabling all other modifications, leaving only vBCredits enabled.

I'm pretty sure the problem is vbcredits. I enable the plugin and the problem starts, I disable it, its cured. And this all started after mysql upgrade, we were using it without any problems for years.

I also tried disabling other plugins, this does not help. The problem persists (even gets worse) when the only active plugin is vbcredits. In this scenario all forums goes down and chrome gives "ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED" error until vbcredits is disabled. Other browsers (eg. firefox) just returns blank pages.

Please note that we are still using hack's 2.0.0 version! Your latest version might be compatible with mysql 5.5 but maybe first version is not as its pretty old (from 2012 I guess?).

Only the latest version is fully supported, we would be unable to fix any bugs or issues with v2.0.0. The latest version is v2.1.1 PL1.

You could check your PHP error log to see if there's any vBCredits-related errors in there?

I understand that.

However we need to pay to upgrade to the latest version and I'm trying to make sure after the payment the problem will be gone. I'd hate to pay for an upgrade and end up with the same bug.

Hmm, trying to think if there's a way we can make sure of that...

Are you receiving any DB error emails to the "technicalemail" as defined in config.php?

As this ticket has received no further replies, I'll close it.
