Question Mentions not showing up in post / mentions page

I can't get the mentions to show up in the post when using the @ symbol. Also the mentions tab is blank. The user gets the email of the mention.

I got it fixed. The file and directory ownership was to me and not apache. I chown the files and directories to www-data and everything is working as expected.
