Highlighting Room when new shouts

Is there a way to highlight the rooms (tabs) when there are shouts inside the room ?

It may be a feature, but it doesn't work correctly on my forum. It rarely flashes, and when it does, 1/2 the time there are no new chats. I had this problem with the Lite version, and posted about it on vb.org and was told "Nobody else has reported this problem and it's not easy for me to debug as such, I'm afraid." since I liked the chat box and figured maybe it was working in Pro (or maybe I could get better support), I purchased. Well, it's still not working.

I had just requested this feature not too long ago because I couldn't find the option in 5.3.1. I just went through it all and still see no option for it...someone, I am blind apparently, help me to find it. lol

There's no option because It's always on

The only reason why the rooms wouldn't highlight was if the chmod step wasn't done, can you check that?

Is there going to be any resolution to this? I have a lot of members complaining, and this is a deal breaker for using this chat box.

Well if you PM me with your FTP info and an AdminCP login to your forums (with at least Can Admin Styles) then I'll hopefully be able to dig something up

This has now been corrected on your forum. I've not added this patch to the official Pro download because I'm not 100% sure if it has unforeseen consequences, though none were detected during testing.

One thing I should note is that it will still highlight the main tab even though the shout was only in a chat room. This is a limitation I'm hoping to remove with the next feature update

What is the fix, I see that same issue with VBShout 5.3.2 + 4.0.8 with FireFox 3.6 browser

- Shout tab keeps highlighting without any post
- Other tabs wont highlight with new posts.
- if you are not on shout tab the sound notification keeps firing every 3 sec.

Highlights misfiring is a consequence of the AOP system combined with the fact that the code got cobbled together when instances were added.

Any such problems we hope to alleviate in a future version when we have time to properly clean it up
