Had DBSEO installed last week and pages are starting to be indexed now. Today I received the following message in Google Webmaster Tools, how do I fix it?

Increase in authorization permission errors:

Google detected a significant increase in the number of URLs we were blocked from crawling due to authorization permission errors.

Could this be related to my robots.tx?

That is most likely due to the fact that previously, Google would index vB's "no permissions" pages as valid pages.

You do not want pages that guests cannot see indexed in Google. I can tell you from experience that nothing is more infuriating than clicking a result link and not actually seeing the information you searched for. I'm sure you'll agree with me on that one :)

For that reason, DBSEO will send 403 No Permissions errors to search engines for pages that guests cannot access. That way, those pages are not indexed in the search engine. This means your valid pages (i.e. pages guests can access) will receive higher search rankings, as users who click those links will not instantly hit the Back button - they will have found the information they are looking for. Higher quality content = more time spent on the page = higher search rankings.

The error message is simply Google letting you know that all those old pages are now suddenly (correctly) returning No Permissions.

In short: This is perfectly normal, and is not a cause for concern at all :)
