Legacy Choosing End Date for Auctions

I really REALLY need to be able to enter an end date for auctions. We do our rescue auctions for only one week every couple of months, with them ending at the same time. We like to create the auctions as we get the items donated. Having them listed as we get them makes it easy to see our inventory. but we only use/list a certain # of them at a time.

FYI, I may have found a bug.

I also was trying to figure out a way to work around this, thinking if I made the start date a year from now then when it was time for auction, all we would need to do is change the start date and time so it would end when we want.

Well now that listing has just disappeared, it does not show up on the seller's profile page or anywhere

I think the problem might be that the start date is in front of now... which means it won't be 'visible' in some instances. I'll look into this further. Just looking at how we can best implement this feature.

We've got the end date option included in RC3. You can switch the system on or off in the Admin CP and if it's enabled a user can choose start date or end date.

Only problem I see is there is no way to see or find the auctions. Once it is listed it is not visible, so we cannot see the inventory.

I checked the user profile and current listings, all listings, ect. It's just simply not found.

Are you able to find the auctions in the AdminCP? I'll have a look at what might be causing the issue. IIRC the system should naturally allow a user to see their own auctions via the My Listings page... But I'll check into it.

No they are not showing in admincp either. They are just in cyberland somewhere lol

Can you tell me what the title of the listing was that you've had problems with? It will help me check it in your database to see what's happening.

I only posted the one, but could not find it since I had it started first week of March.

I've had a look in the database for you this morning and there is only one listing that shows as having a start date within that first week of march, Listing ID 10. From what I can see all the listings look like they exist correctly, though you do have a listing with a start date in January 2015...

Perhaps this was one of those anomalies where something didn't quite save to the server. Let me know if you come across this issue at some point in the future.

I'm sure they are there, I just cannot find them or access them at all.

I will run some more test listings this week and see if I can find a way to view them still but not have them active. I think I may be able to find a way to work around it :up:

Is there way to set it up to where we can "edit" the end date?

We have about 100 items, but only pick and choose about 20 per auction, but we list them in advance (in a hidden forum) so we can see our inventory.

So now, if we list something with starting now, and put the end date a year from now in a category only we can see (just for example), my thoughts are if we can edit the end date, we will choose the items and edit the category and end date and it would work wonderfully.

I've found a few more things so I will start a new thread on those....

but can you tell me how to make it so that when a member clicks "Store" the only items that will show is the featured items? Thanks!

Some good ideas here. I'll look at how we might be able to implement some of them (or something similar).

Regarding the Store showing just featured items, that's not possible at the moment. I'll see what we can do to include a feature like that.

Thanks! I am just speaking entirely of the 'store front', I don't like the long list of items below it and there is 0 wanted items so it just looks 'off'. Or if we can remove the wanted items section that would be good too.
