I just installed 1.1.8 and entered in a bunch of keywords in the keyword manager. I used the Google Adwords tool to come up with a good list of keywords. Then I turned on thread tagging, enabling the following features:

Content Tagging: Keyword Only - Yes
Enable Thread Tagging - Yes

After that, I generated tags for a specific date range. It seems that the high priority priority keywords are not tagged. However, the secondary ones are tagged.

A few questions:

1. Why are tags not generated for high priority keywords?
2. What does the system do with DBSEO keywords in general? What are they used for?
3. What value do thread tags have from an SEO perspective?

1. Why are tags not generated for high priority keywords?
Because those keywords were not found in the content you were tagging.
2. What does the system do with DBSEO keywords in general? What are they used for?
The "Tags for this Thread" feature you can see in the bottom of threads like these.
3. What value do thread tags have from an SEO perspective?
It helps spiders find content related to the content it is currently crawling, by also visiting those links. It also helps users find similar threads for the same reason.

Thank you.

Actually, those keywords absolutely are in the content. They are not getting picked up. I looked at several threads that included the most important keywords for my forum - those ones that are high priority. They do not seem to be getting tagged. I looked at both threads that had the keywords in the title and the threads that had the keywords in the OP.

It's only the medium priority ones that are getting tagged (I have no lows).

Are you sure those keywords are in the first post and/or title of the thread? It doesn't scan the rest of the thread, only the first post.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Update: Hey, sorry for the delay. I have investigated your site, and I have noticed that your keyword configuration is incorrect.

Keywords like "estj personality" is not supported, as a keyword is a single word, not a phrase.

Would you like me to remove all the multi-word keywords you have defined and continue testing this issue?

I did it. ;///me thread in the previous post u

Thank you. I redid the keywords, applied tags and still it's the same pattern. Not catching the high priority words. only mediums. can you take another look?

Certainly :)

I'll look into this later today and I'll hopefully have an update for you some time in the evening UK time :)

I upgraded to 1.1.9 and now it is happening again. I tried resetting all of the tags, took all the high priority keywords and made them medium priority. It still doesn't work. There are a bunch of tags that aren't showing up, like in the example I provided earlier.

Like in this thread here:

ENFP or INFP?

enfp and infp are keywords and they aren't showing up

That's weird. I'll reset the credentials.

The really big problem is that the missing posts are back again. I'm going to have to clear the tags that are there.

I thought I completely turned the tag cloud off? Maybe you can check? I'm at my wits end on this.
